NetPlan: visual IPAM for structured network planning

NetPlan Cloud helps small and midsize organizations plan IP address space as a hierarchy instead of a flat spreadsheet. Teams create root pools, allocate nested subnets, validate gateways and VLANs, and reuse standard designs through templates.

Visual address hierarchy

Network ranges are displayed as expandable parent-child nodes. Each node records its name, one or more CIDRs, gateway, VLAN range, and notes while calculated details show network address, broadcast address, usable range, and capacity.

Conflict-free automatic allocation

When a child subnet is created, NetPlan can recommend an available aligned CIDR by prefix length or required capacity. The allocation must fit inside the parent and cannot overlap a sibling. VLAN allocations follow the same parent-bound and sibling-conflict rules.

Multi-level network templates

A template describes a reusable network tree without hard-coding CIDR values. Each template node specifies a subnet prefix, required VLAN count, and gateway position. When applied, the complete structure is allocated from the CIDR and VLAN pools selected by the user.

Designed for planning and documentation

NetPlan currently focuses on planning, allocation, and structured records. It is distinct from Ubuntu Netplan, the Linux network configuration utility. NetPlan Cloud is a web-based IPAM service available at netplan.cloud.
